How to use Edit PDF Metadata
- Choose a PDF from your device. Your files are processed locally in your browser and are not uploaded to our servers.
- Choose a PDF and edit its existing document details. Clear a field to remove its value.
- Save the details and download the updated copy.
A closer look
Change the standard descriptive fields that many PDF readers display in Document Properties. Editing these fields does not change text printed on the pages. The old XMP metadata stream is removed to avoid conflicting descriptions; other custom properties and embedded content can remain. This is not a complete privacy scrubber.
A practical example
Change a document’s internal title from Untitled to Project overview. This updates its properties; it does not rewrite the heading printed on page 1.
A useful tip
Use commas to separate keywords, such as invoice, September, travel. Changing the title does not rename your original file.
